Journey to the Summit:
Overview.

The Adventure: This past week, I went home, to Teton Valley, to climb the Owen Spaulding route on the Grand. Three days with an old friend, Thomas (one of my first climbing partners), his wife, Jill, and their friend, Brandon. It was, without a doubt, a Grand Ol’ time! We successfully summited at 3:27 PM on July 14th, and frankly, pictures cannot convey even half of what I observed and learned from the experience.

Beyond the Ascent: During the three-day climb, seven principles critical not just for scaling mountains, but also for navigating life and business, made themselves quite apparent:

• The Power of the First Principles

• Preparation never fails

• Learning through systems

• Focus

• Energy & becoming more efficient

• Newtons First Law

• Mindfulness of Breath / Ānāpānasati

A series of Mountain lessons: Over the next few posts, I invite you to join in as we explore the lessons one can learn, by learning from their environment. Diving into each principle and discovering how they manifest in our professional and personal journeys.
